How an Alameda teen became the Island’s first female Eagle Scout

Claire Howell, 17, is the first Alameda girl to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America’s national Scouts BSA program. Her Troop 1015 and the Golden Gate Area Council of the Scouts BSA awarded her the rank after a review Dec. 26, just weeks before another Alameda girl became an Eagle Scout followed by a third wrapping up her badges now.
