Nominate Your District’s Deserving Scouters!
For Presentation at the Volunteer Recognition Dinner
Due by November 29, 2021
It is that time of the year – the time to nominate fellow scouters for their outstanding efforts on behalf of Scouting in the Golden Gate Area Council. There are many awards to recognize the unique contributions made by the numerous volunteers who make Scouting possible. Nominations are encouraged for all of these awards so that they may be presented at the Council Volunteer Recognition Dinner, to be held Saturday, February 5, 2022. If you know of a scouter who should be nominated, do not delay. Submit the application today.
Those who wish to nominate fellow Scouters for any of these awards should complete the application thoroughly and submit it to: GGAC Advancement & Recognition Committee no later than by Monday, November 29, 2021. Selection Committees will meet shortly after so please be on time with your nomination forms.
Silver Beaver Award
The highest honor a council can present to recognize registered scouters of exceptional character who have provided distinguished service within the council. This group of scouters is selected by a committee of former recipients. Application
¡Scouting…Vale la Pena! Service Award
Recognizes outstanding service by a volunteer or an organization for demonstrated involvement in the development and implementation of Scouting opportunities for Hispanic/Latino youth. Application
Asian American Spirit of Scouting Service Award
Recognizes outstanding service by a volunteer or an organization for demonstrated involvement in the development and implementation of Scouting opportunities for Asian American youth. Application
Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award
Recognizes outstanding service by a volunteer or an organization for demonstrated involvement in the development or implementation of scouting opportunities for youth from rural or low-income backgrounds. You must save this Application to your computer to enter and save nomination.
Torch of Gold Award
Recognizes adults for exceptional service and leadership in working with Scouts who have disabilities. Application
Venturing Leadership Award
Recognizes Venturers and Venturing Advisors who have made exceptional contributions to Venturing and who exemplify the Scout Oath and Law. (Youth nominations may be submitted up to one year past the youth’s 21st birthday). Application
Sea Scouting Leadership Award
Recognizes Sea Scouts and Sea Scouters who have made exceptional contributions to Sea Scouting and who exemplify the Scout Oath and Law. Application
Learning for Life Leadership Award
Recognizes Explorers, highs school participants, and adult volunteers who have given exceptional leadership in Exploring or Learning for Life programs. Application
William H. Spurgeon III Award
The highest honor a council can present to individuals and organizations who have rendered outstanding leadership for the Exploring program at the post, district, or council level. Application
