Council Venturing Leadership Award Nominations
The Council Venturing Committee will be accepting nominations for the Council Venturing Leadership Award (VLA) starting November 1, 2022 and the last day to submit nominations will be December 1, 2022. Also, this will be the nomination window for the Council VLAs every year unless otherwise announced.
The Council Venturing Leadership Award is presented to individuals who show exceptional dedication, give outstanding leadership and service to Venturing and Venturers, and exemplify the Scout Oath and Scout Law. In addition to the above description, qualifications for the VLA include:
To submit a nomination, download the Official Nomination Form , fill it out completely with the nominee’s information, and email the form to (TBA). Note: another email will be sent out on or before November 1, 2022 regarding who to submit the nomination forms to. For the nomination forms, you may attach letters of recommendation from Venturers, Scouters, acquaintances, teachers, place of worship, etc. Youth nominations may be submitted for up to one year past the youth’s 21st birthday. Recipients will receive a medallion suspended from a blue and white ribbon, VLA knot, and certificate at the Council Annual Recognition Event typically early Winter or Spring.

- Be registered and involved as a Venturer or Venturing advisor for at least one year.
- Hold a leadership position or an office at the unit, district, council, territory, or national level (as appropriate for the level of the award presented).
