Millicent 'Millie' M. selected NST 3 VOA Vice President for 2023-4

Congratulations to our 2022-23 GGAC VOA President Millicent “Millie” Moon for being selected to serve as the 2023-24 National Service Territory 3 VOA Vice President!  Note: Millie is the first Venturer in GGAC to serve as a Territory 3 VOA Officer since the National Service Territory structure of the BSA was established in June 2021.

The Territory 3 VOA serves 20 councils (19 in California and the 1 in Hawaii) and works to provide guidance and support to help sustain and strengthen Venturing in their councils.  The youth officers provide training, program resources/expertise, and monthly VOA meetings (starting late summer) as well as an active social media network (Facebook and Instagram) to communicate information to councils and for them to share their Council VOA and Crews activities.

Millie Moon is a member of the Golden Gate Area Council and is from Alameda, California. Millie discovered Venturing after joining Scouts BSA when she was 13. Prior to joining Scouting, she was already experienced in outdoor adventures (skiing, backpacking, climbing, etc.) and saw Venturing as a good opportunity to continue exploring the outdoors and share those experiences with others.

Millie’s most recent leadership position was the President of the Golden Gate Area Council VOA, but she has served as the President of Venturing Crew 2 in Alameda as well as the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and the Senior Patrol leader for Scouts BSA Troop 7 as well. In 2021, she was a youth volunteer for Wood Badge and in 2022, she attended Philmont Scout Ranch. Millie is currently a Life Scout from the Golden Gate Area Council and an Ordeal Honor member of the Order of the Arrow in Yerba Buena Lodge.

Millie is currently a rising Junior at Head Royce School in Oakland, California. She is looking forward to supporting the TVOA president as well as continued communication with Council VOAs in Territory 3. She is excited to serve as the TVOA Vice President for the upcoming 2023-2024 term!

The GGAC VOA is looking to select the next 2023-24 GGAC VOA President.  With all the applications we received, we have found applications for only the VP position and no applications for the President position.  With that said, GGAC VOA youth officers will be making multiple communication attempts to reach out and see which Venturers from your Crews are interested in serving as the next GGAC VOA President.
