It Takes A Village was founded in March 2020, initially to make PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for healthcare workers, and now to support the medically underserved. Thanks to the help of Bay Area scouts and their families, and hundreds of other volunteers we have donated over 200,000 pieces of PPE.
We have two initiatives that we need help with:
1. County of Contra Costa has given us another 15,000 expired N95 masks to refurbish (pull off expired elastic, hole punch, tie new elastic, no skills needed)
2. First 5 of San Francisco and Santa Clara, and USCF have requested a total of 4,000 fabric face masks for young unvaccinated children so we need sewists
We supply all the materials and instructions.
For more information, contact Julia Chin, Co-chair of It Takes A Village and mother of two scouts, at [email protected] if you can help.
