For Scoutmasters & Asst Scoutmasters: fine-tune your troop meetings, increase your understanding of the patrol method, advancement, annual planning and more. This course will give you the information and confidence to lead your Scouts for successful troop activities and adventurous outings. You will learn what resources are available, and your Scouts and unit will benefit from the knowledge you gain!

A fun, introductory training all Cub Scout leaders need for successful Cub Scout overnight camping trips. BSA policy requires that you have at least one BALOO-trained adult on every Cub Scout den or pack overnight outdoor event!
April 30 – May1, 2022
Trainers from Redwood Empire and Marin Councils are collaborating to provide this important overnight course at scenic Camp Tamarancho. To safely lead Scouting’s outdoor program you need a core set of skills and knowledge. Here, you’ll learn how to build a fire, handle an axe, cook outdoors, use a map and compass, be a responsible steward of the outdoors, and much more. Even if you weren’t a Scout in your youth, you’ll come away from this course looking and acting like a seasoned camper! Completing this overnight course,Weather Hazards, the Scoutmaster/Asst. Scoutmaster Leader-Specific Training, and Youth Protection Training will make you a “fully-trained” Scouts BSA leader.
