Powder Horn – 2021

Powder Horn is a training opportunity designed to expose Venturing and Scouts BSA Leaders leading older youth (14+) to activities and resources necessary to operate a successful High Adventure program. The aim is to give hands-on experience with a variety of high adventure activities so that you understand the planning, the type of equipment, the safety considerations and most important- contacts to qualified professionals and experts.

Powder Horn is a skills resource course held over 4-6 days. Each Powder Horn course is slightly different, but you can expect to see activities ranging from aquatics to mountain biking, rock climbing to shooting sports, well, you get the picture. It’s one of the few advanced training courses that you can take several times.

Each session is typically 90-120 minutes in length.
