Safety Moment – National Poison Prevention Week

March 18th starts National Poison Prevention Week! Can you believe it has been a year already? This is a great time to review prevention, first aid and emergency procedures with your scouts and scouters.  A great place to start is the BSA’s Poison Control Centers Safety Moment.

Next, check out the www.poisonhelp.org website, which has a plethora of information. Remember – If an individual has collapsed, had a seizure, has trouble breathing, or can’t be awakened, call 911 immediately.

The California Poison Control System has a number of events for National Poison Prevention Week including a live presentation on their Facebook page on Rattlesnake Awareness Day on March 22.

Lastly, did you put the Poison Hotline in your phone like I told you at the beginning of the month?  No?  Do it right now. I’ll wait.

¯¯Do wah diddy diddy, dum diddy do, we’ll sing it, Do wah diddy diddy, dum diddy do¯¯

Got it? Good!
